WOWOW! What a weekend!

Friends from out of town came to visit, we went to local parks, tried local breakfast joints and played a cool backyard party show last night!

Local park!
Breakfast joint!
What I can only assume is an ancient Mahjong table. I have marked the East Wind seat for convenience.

For all my guitar nerds: I used to basically double-amp my tone... I used just the pre-amp portion of amplifiers on my Helix LT (along with effects) and ran it into the "Modern" amp stage of my Quilter Toneblock 202 head. BUT, I have since seen the light and changed how I do things.
Now, I have changed all the pre-amps in my patches to actual full amp heads and now I run it into the "FRFR" portion of my Quilter. Then, on the patches themselves, I have split outputs... One output goes right to the Quilter, like I mentioned, and the other one goes to the Helix LT's XLR output with a cab-sim.
What this means for non-guitar people: I can choose a wider and more accurate palette of amplifier sounds, send a good signal straight to the venue staff from my floor unit AND I can edit patches at home on my computer and have them sound basically the same as they do when you're standing in the room with an amplifier! How convenient!

Anyway, all that is to say.... I've been pretty busy! Haven't had a ton of time to work on Negative Reverie.... but YA BOI still got a good bit done!

NEGATIVE REVERIE

I like drawing heights :)

OK OK
Let me be real for just a moment....

When I showed my game off in SF, there were a few times when people would come over to me and not really want to talk about the game, but just say "Well, this is what I would do instead of what you're doing" and TBH sometimes it came off as a little irritating...
Like, who ARE you... why are u telling me how to make MY game...

BUT, my friends.... this is the irony....

I still wrote down their ideas just to be courteous... and this week I did test out implementing a few of their ideas (ya know, mostly to look at the idea in use and laugh at their ignorance), but I gotta tell ya....

It pays to listen to people. Sometimes they're right, hahaha. Sometimes people DO have more experience and insight than you do on something.

The big win for strangers everywhere was tightening the camera. I liked having it kind of floaty and slow, since it made it feel more... idk... "cinematic". Someone recommended I tighten it up big time, so I really clamped it down and... yeah, it does look better now. It's easier to see what's coming up on the screen and there is less pixel dancing when the camera is slowing down.

Mmm, look at that camera TRACK!

Anyway, the work on the game continues to be mostly new locations and tilemaps. If I keep up the pace, I can be done with every area well within the year.... maybe in fall?!?! Watch this space.

Since I don't have too much else to show.... here's a Vuota drawing I whipped up real quick.

Ooo she mad.

AS ALWAYS, UPCOMING SHOWS:

I know I posted it last week, but we're the only local support on this show coming up so I'm gonna be shilling it PRETTY HARD, my apologies hahaha.

It IS gonna be a good show, though!

OK HAVE A GOOD WEEK!

Ok, have a good week! I'm gonna get back to making new Negative Reverie maps RIGHT NOW and try to get this dang game out within our lifetimes! I'm feeling MOTIVATED!!! YEAH! TIME TO FLEX THOSE ART MUSCLES!!! Thank you so much for sticking with me this long! Can't wait to start revealing some more of the upcoming game locations! WAHOO!

Also thank you to some new supporters!! AAAA!! You're too kind Q___Q <3
