I have done it.

I have successfully ruined my sleep schedule once again by staying up too late several days in a row and now I am exhausted during the day once again. Go me. Wahoo.

DANG, guess what though! We're about to start recording another ZAKU EP soon. Exciting right? We're gonna be trying out a new method of recording this time where we do several live takes in the same room together instead of putting everything together at home, so we'll see how it goes!

Mmmm... I don't think I got THAT much done this week... it's been REALLY REALLY busy at work and I told some friends I would hang out with them over the weekend so... I coulda got more done.

STILL though, I did finish the last of the locations and maps for Chapter 4: THE TUNNELS and started completely reworking the tilemaps for Chapter 5: THE AMPHORA.

So, yeah I got some things done. Not as much as I'd like, but eh.... what are ya gonna do.

BUT!!! I got a new fun thing to play around with! I may have talked about this before (I don't remember, I'm sorry!), but I plotted out the entire game using a tool called "drawio". It's basically just a diagram drawing tool, but I set it up so I can easily look at it and get a sense of how complete the game is. Alongside that, I made a quick n' dirty python program that looks at how many rooms in the diagram are complete! I can run it and get a little read out of where I am....

FOR EXAMPLE.....

69 rooms done... nice.

So that's what my program says, as of running it a few seconds ago. Now, to be fair, I haven't planned out every room in 3 of the chapters of the game, so that Total Room number will probably increase to about 300, by the end of development, not including side quests that I may add in post-release. I think I'll start posting this completion percentage every update, so y'all can get an idea of how far along the process is.

This is how I feel when I see how much more there is to do.

Well, at least for the moment, I don't have any more plans this week, so hopefully I can get some more rooms done than I did last week.

A THOUGHT ABOUT GAMES

I wanted to play a video game yesterday, but instead of actually playing anything I just catalogued all of my games on backlogged. I have been finding over the last like... year or so, that I just can't concentrate on games now. Idk what it is, but after playing a video game for like... an hour, I can't keep going on and I can't seem to finish any games. Maybe I'm just PLAGUED by knowing that I could be working on my own game instead....
The same kinda goes for reading. I have started so many books and finished exactly none of them in the last year. I need to teach myself to be disciplined in actually enjoying things that other people create... or something.

Anyway, maybe I can convince myself to continue Tales of Phantasia or Silent Hill f later this week. I DID play a few matches of Guilty Gear Strive and WON, though! Happy GGST 2.0 to everyone who celebrates.

...and happy whatever this is.

OTHER JUNK

I finally beat Super Mario Bros. on the Play Choice 10 cabinet at the Barcade downtown. Everyone cheered (they didn't actually, but I imagined that they did). I also played a ton of Chunithm... I don't wanna say "to the annoyance" of my friends... but I think I'm probably more into the AnimePops and Vocaloid Jams than they are, hahaha. Good stuff. My friend got past "Hole 5" on the Ice Cold Beer cabinet. What a legend.
