I didn't get a lot of game dev or art done this week... so I drew some pixelated teeth at the last minute to have SOMETHING to show you, lmao.

BUSY, DANG

I've been getting pounded at work recently, so my actual real-life-human-job has been taking up most of my energy. It's still pretty hectic and I don't wanna get too into it, but I'm hoping it will chill out by the end of the year. My plan was to get a lot of work done on my night shift, in between projects... but that might not end up being possible until we get over the hump.

Oh well! The best laid plains something something....

GETTING OBSESSED WITH FIGHTING GAMES AGAIN AND THEN DROPPING THEM OVER THE COURSE OF 3 DAYS

One thing about being on night shift is that I watch a lot of YouTube in the background while I work... and I like watching channels about the FGC like Sajam and Lordknight and Diaphone....

And well... after watching them for 4 days straight while I was working last week, I got the ITCH to get super into Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising again. So, I downloaded it on my first day of the weekend... put like 15 hours into it... and then dropped it 100% lmao.

Blame it on the fact I'm bad at it or blame it on the fact that the OST for that game is SO GOOD that it made me turn the game off and start practicing guitar, but either way, my very short lived fascination is over already.

And obviously... putting a ton of time into it did not contribute positively to me getting any game dev done, lmao.

Ces't la vie.

WELL, IT'S SOMETHIN

At very least, I did make a few more tiles for chapter 4!

yeah, there's a billiards table down there...

Also I sketched out a couple ideas for various conversations that the characters can have with each other during non-major scenes.

So... it's not a lot, but it's still on my mind!

THE RETURN OF GAMING

Another thing contributing to my lack of productivity this week was actually playing some video games for the first time in a WHILE. I got in about 10 hours of the RE4 Remake purely because I haven't played the DLC before and I want to play the main game again before tackling the DLC and then play the DLC before RE9 comes out in February. I'm so excitied about RE9 that I'll probably take off work for a few days just to play it all the way through, hahaha.

I've been playing Ys II. What a game. I'm playing it as part of the Ys I & II collection on Steam and it's so so so good. The music rips and the bump-combat feels great. I see why people love it so much. Thinkin' about become a real Ys head.

THAT'S ABOUT IT

So yeah, not a lot to talk about this week, but I'm feeling the ENERGY coming back to me. I'm ready to get back into it and I'm starting with THIS VERY POST! (Also I spent HOURS getting some Ubuntu stuff under control and partitioning out a lil Windows 11 volume on my laptop and now that that's done I can finally get cookin'.)
